Aslam Farooqi
1: The latest publication reveals that ISKP senior leader Aslam Farooqi, also known as Abdullah Orakzai, is still alive. His whereabouts have been unknown since he escaped from a high-security prison in Kabul during the fall of the former Afghan government on August 15, 2021.
Farooqi, a cousin of ISKP founder Hafiz Saeed Khan, was a senior figure in the group and reportedly served as its fourth emir. The former Afghan government announced his capture in Kandahar province in April 2020, after ISKP’s territorial defeat in Afghanistan.
