ये कहना है शर्मिष्ठा सेठी का, जिनका ओडिशा के केंद्रपाड़ा में स्थानीय लोगों ने बहिष्कार कर दिया था. दलित समाज से आने वालीं शर्मिष्ठा ने आंगनवाड़ी में सहायिका के तौर पर नौकरी हासिल की.
कुछ स्थानीय लोगों को ये गवारा नहीं हुआ कि उनके बच्चे शर्मिष्ठा के हाथ से पका हुआ भोजन खाएं. बच्चों का स्कूल आना भी बंद करा दिया गया था. हालांकि बाद में प्रशासन की सख़्ती के बाद बच्चे वापस स्कूल आए.
शर्मिष्ठा का कहना है कि वो बच्चों के स्कूल लौटने से खुश हैं और चाहती हैं कि सभी पढ़ें और अच्छे इंसान बनें.
