Daesh Khorasan surrendered in Jawzjan Afghanistan

1: The US tried hard to weaken the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan/Afghan Taliban, for which the CIA launched various projects, one of which was Daesh Khorasan.

2: ISIS Khorasan rebelled against organizations such as the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan/Afghan Taliban, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Al-Qaeda Subcontinent, and the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (IMU).

3: Daesh Khorasan started fighting from various places, including the Jawzjan province of Afghanistan.

They demanded justice from Afghanistan’s legal and judicial institutions.

4: IS fighters surrender to government forces in face of Taliban onslaught

(3 Aug 2018) Afghan officials say more than 150 Islamic State fighters have surrendered to government forces in the face of an onslaught by the Taliban in the northern Jawzjan province.

General Faqir Mohammad Jawzjani, the provincial police chief, said 152 fighters surrendered on Wednesday, including Habib-ul Rahman, their commander.

Abdul Hai Hayat, the head of the provincial council, said they surrendered after the Taliban flooded reinforcements into two districts in recent weeks.

The Taliban and IS are both battling to overthrow the Western-backed government and impose a harsh form of Islamic rule, but are fiercely divided over leadership, ideology and tactics.

The Taliban said in a statement that they had killed dozens of IS fighters and captured more than 130 in Jawzjan, adding that 17 Taliban militants were killed and 13 wounded.

5: FARAKHABAR: Daesh Accused of War Crimes in Jawzjan

Displaced families and victims of Daesh atrocities in the northern province of Jawzjan on Sunday called on Afghanistan’s legal and judicial institutions to bring the group to justice.

About 250 Daesh fighters handed themselves over to Afghan security forces last week after a fierce battle with the Taliban.

Among the fighters who surrendered were dozens of child and teenage soldiers – under the age of 18.
