GDI raids the Daesh hideout in Mohmand Dara in 2024
1: Alert: The Taliban’s General Directorate of Intelligence (GDI) conducted a raid in Mohmand Dara,
a border district in Nangarhar province, eastern Afghanistan, resulting in the killing of Zakirullah (aka Abu Sher), a alleged commander of the Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP). Zakirullah, a native of Achin district, was reportedly the current ISKP military leader for his home district Achin. He was wanted by the GDI for his alleged role in rebuilding the ISKP network in the province.
2: Taliban Intelligence (GDI) forces carried out an operation in Mohmand Dara, a border district in eastern Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province, resulting in the deaths of alleged ISKP commander Zakirullah, also known as Abu Sher, and his accomplice. They had been living there with his family.
According to sources, Zakir, who hailed from the Achin district of Nangarhar, was the current ISKP leader for his home district. Although Zakir had received amnesty after surrendering to the Taliban following their takeover in August 2021, he was sought by the GDI for his alleged involvement in organizing the ISKP network in the province.
