1: Alert: Qatar has asked the Afghan Taliban to shut down their Qatar offices in Doha; sources confirmed..
The taliban offices were established in 18 June 2013 in Doha.
The Political offices were used for negotiations, diplomacy, mediation with foreign governments, and representing Taliban interests internationally.
After 2021, these offices became a bridge between the Taliban regime and the outside world, especially since many countries closed their embassies in Kabul.

2: Reports that Qatar has communicated to the Taliban leadership to close their political offices in Doha, mainly because of concerns that the Taliban have not taken clear steps to distance themselves from transnational militant groups operating from Afghan territory.
These signals from Qatar suggest the growing frustration with the Taliban’s policies- leading to perennial instability in the war torn country.
Qatar has long acted as a mediator and potential investor in Afghanistan, with interest in infrastructure, airport management, and dam construction.
The broader message from Doha appears clear: diplomatic engagement and economic investment will only move forward if the Taliban demonstrate responsible governance and ensure afghan soil is not used by militant groups.
